Carol Lauffer, a partner with Business Cluster Development, a consulting firm specialized in business incubation/acceleration and technology commercialization, will present the business plan for a biomedical innovation and commercialization hub located on campus. The proposed hub is designed to accelerate the commercialization of discoveries and nurture entrepreneurs who wish to develop biomedical products, launch their own startup or explore career opportunities in the growing industry of early-stage life sciences companies. The new hub will offer a large spectrum of services, educational and networking resources for faculty, researchers, postdocs, and graduate students, and is expected to capitalize on the full potential of the university's research and patent portfolio.
